The game was officially announced by Konami on April 18, 2012.[3] The demo version was released on July 25, 2012 while the retail version was released on September 20th 2012 in the EU, except in the UK where it was released on September 21st 2012,[4] and will be released in North America September 25th 2012.[2]Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid will be featured for the front cover.[5] For the first time of the series, all 20 teams from the Brazilian national league, Campeonato Brasileiro Serie A, are included in the game series.[6][7][8] The UEFA Champions League is once again set to appear in the game.[9] This will be the last game to feature the current game engine.[

Like previous versions of the game, it will be exclusively licensed by UEFA to contain the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup competitions along with a license from CONMEBOL to feature the Copa Santander Libertadores. Referees' governing UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Super Cup matches will wear the official UEFA Champions League uniforms, which is a first for the series.

ProActive AI
Players are made especially to be recognized as well as the real players. Just like Zlatan Ibrahimovic who like to take a mid-air ball with his inside right foot towards the goal.
